Live Stream Session Added for Workshop at Korinji
Live-Stream information below.

ZEN: One School, One Mind

A special practice weekend at Korinji with Dosho Port Roshi and Meido Roshi.

This event will include sitting, formal meals, dokusan, and extensive discussion. All practitioners welcome, including beginners who have received zazen instruction.

There will also be one LIVE-STREAMED session. If you can't join us in person, tune in then! See below for details.

The branching lineages of Zen - also called the Buddha-Mind School, and the One Vehicle School of South India transmitted by Bodhidharma - have developed a diverse richness of teachings and practice methods. Yet they have always been unified in their fundamental approach, resting upon awakening as the gate and basis of the path : "Seeing one's nature, becoming Buddha."

Join us for a weekend of practice and discussion led by two Western Zen teachers: Dosho Port Roshi and Meido Moore Roshi. Encompassing approaches to practice rooted in both Soto and Rinzai lineages, our time together will affirm the broad perspective that all Zen is, indeed, One School. Dialogue will address the shared past of our traditions, the present state of Zen, and discussion of possible futures. This is an extraordinary opportunity to practice together with teachers who together carry an uncommon wealth of experience.

First time visitors to Korinji, please see the retreat info doc and application. It tells you everything you will need to bring, including for sleeping at the monastery. (Regarding clothing, students from other Zen lineages please feel free to wear your usual style of practice garments). Return the application by email, as directed.

Returning guests: you need only RSVP (no application required).

Suggested donation for this retreat is $300. Please donate by PayPal here. No one will be turned away for inability to donate the full amount: please make arrangements with us as needed before you arrive.
