Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Zennies
An old Waylon and Willie tune that an old Zen buddy, Larry Anderson, adapted. I had some minor input on the lyrics. Larry and I studied together with Katagiri Roshi in the late 70's and early 80's. Roshi, having a issue with the "r's" and "l's" always seemed to refer to Larry as Rarely, which somehow fit. I have some vivid memories of wild post-sesshin parties at Larry's house in Powderhorn Park of which I will disclose no additional information.
Larry and I are the only known Zennies to have grown up in Cloquet, MN, and our parents even lived in the same assisted living for a while.
A little New Year's levity for ya. But ... not just levity. Really .... Anyway, enjoy.
PS I think my browser is up-to-date, but I can't seem to remove that odd note.
